NeuroHope Receives $96,000 Grant from Christopher & Dana Reeve Foundation
NeuroHope is honored to announce a $96,000 Expanded Impact Grant from the Christopher & Dana Reeve Foundation in support of our Adaptive Wellness Program!
This generous investment reflects the Reeve Foundation’s continued confidence in NeuroHope’s mission, our work at the DRIVEN NeuroRecovery Center, and the life-changing impact of long-term wellness for people living with paralysis. We are deeply grateful for the Reeve Foundation’s continued support, and proud to be recognized among organizations across the country advancing innovative programs that empower individuals to live healthier, more independent lives.
Separate from NeuroHope’s outpatient physical, occupational, and speech therapy services, our Adaptive Wellness Program provides an affordable pathway for continued health and recovery long after traditional rehabilitation ends. Led by Wellness Coordinator Mel Spencer, the program offers monthly memberships that include supervised and open gym access to our fully wheelchair-accessible fitness center, daily adaptive cardio and strength classes, individualized support, and community events that encourage connection, confidence, and lifelong wellness. Together, these services help reduce the secondary health complications associated with paralysis while promoting greater independence and quality of life.
This award represents the next chapter in a program that has been growing since 2019 through the generous support of the Reeve Foundation, Anthem, and the Indiana Department of Health. Those early investments helped establish NeuroHope’s wellness initiative and expand access to adaptive fitness opportunities that have now served hundreds of people living with paralysis throughout Indiana.
With this new Expanded Impact Grant, we look forward to increasing program capacity, enhancing member services, and ensuring that even more individuals have access to the ongoing support they need to thrive.
