Defying death physically and mentally: One year later Jacob Evans is #unstoppable 💪💪. Battling depression in 2025, a medical emergency nearly took his life at age 27. In the year since he has been on a mental, emotional, and physical journey few can understand.

Since coming to our facility, one year ago, he has worked tirelessly with our team. Pushing to regain strength, balance, walking ability, and arm function. His physical improvement following his stroke and anoxic brain injury has been remarkable, but perhaps the most remarkable transformation has been internally.

Through it all , Jacob shares he no longer struggles with pre-injury depression. His journey has given him a new, and powerful outlook on life. He is unstoppable - and we are honored to be a part of his journey! Read his full story at www.neurohopewellness.org

This free, hands-on clinic is open to ALL wheelchair users, and focuses on practical skills like navigating curbs, ramps, uneven sidewalks, and everyday obstacles. Led by @iuoccupationaltherapy students and clinicians in collaboration with our therapy team. The program is designed to build confidence and independence in real-world environments.

Since Jan 1, our Wellness program has been logging the 1,846 miles from NeuroHope & the DRIVEN Indy campus to @drivenlv — one step, pedal, and stride at a time.

We’re 656 miles in! Nearly halfway there and building momentum. Riding, walking, or running in NeuroFit, Open Gym, or at home, every mile counts.

Our @nustep_llc , @keiserfitness cycles , and @scifit.md cycles are up to the task 💪 Let’s get there by February!

Long-time NeuroHope patient Leslie Fuller was 1 of 20 subjects selected for NerveGen Pharmaceuticals clinical study of their NVG-291 drug, an injection aimed to help regenerate the nervous system after spinal cord injury.

We welcomed NerveGen Founder Dr Brad Lang, and @wgnnews Health Reporter Katharin Czink to the clinic to cover Leslie’s progress after her injection , and to learn about the future of NVG-291.

The drug works by blocking certain proteins that prevent nerve cells from growing and healing.

Clinical trials show that the many people with chronic spinal cord injury who received NVG-291 in the study, including Leslie , experienced motor and sensory improvements.

Leslie moved from ASIA C to an ASIA D during the trial and also reports improvements in thermoregulation & sense of smell!

There is still much to be learned about NVG-291, its efficacy, and when it may be available for public use.

Pediatric Room unveiled! The @dreamakur team created a wonderful, interactive space for the kids! Multiple scenes blended together with interactive activities, sensory zones, and a comforting environment! Special thanks to @compass_construction , #Habelfest, and @barnraisers for the funding that made this room possible!

Separate from #physicaltherapy and guided exercise sessions , our Wellness Program, led by Mel Spencer features daily group classes (cardio & strength training) , as well as open gym access to our adaptive fitness center.
